TM4C129ENCPDT: Magnetics for 10/100BASE-T, Conformance tests

Part Number: TM4C129ENCPDT

Hi,

We would like to use the TM4C129ENCPDT for a new project. We need 10/100BASE-T connectivity.
Therefore I have studied the datasheet, System design guidelines (SPMA056) and the schematic of the TM4C129E LaunchPad.
In the Datasheet and the System design guide the HX1188NL (HX1188FNL resp.) magnetics are proposed. But in the TM4C129E LaunchPad schematic there is a the following stated:

"U10 May be populated with either HX1188FNL or HX1198FNL.
HX1198FNL preferred for best Ethernet performance."

Therefore I have the following questions:

1. What magnetics should be used? What is the performance difference between HX1188FNL and HX1198FNL? (I can see that that common mode choke swaped from media side to chip side)
2. Are there any working reference designs with integrated magnetics (in RJ45)?
3. Are there any Ethernet compliance test results for a certain design that TI can deliver?
4. The SLVU2.8-4 ESD protection diode is proposed. Does TI has a similar part that can be used?

Thanks and best regards,
Patrick
