Hi,

We are using TMS570LC4357 in our design and we would like to use external watchdog. Could you please explain how to connect the watchdog to MCU to read watchdog reset?

    1. Recommended External Watchdog ICs:
            TPS65381A-Q1
    • This is a TI PMIC (Power Management IC) with integrated watchdog functionality
    • Specifically designed for automotive safety applications
    • Features ASIL capability
    • Commonly used with Hercules safety MCUs
    1. Connection Details:
    • The watchdog's NRES (Reset Output) pin should be connected to the MCU's NPORRST pin
    • For the TPS65381A-Q1:
      • The watchdog timer can be configured for different timeout periods
      • The device provides a clean reset signal to the MCU when the watchdog times out
      • Includes power supply monitoring and safety features
