TMS570LC4357-EP: SPIENA vs SPICS

Hello,

I have a question on the SPIENA signal on the MibSPI interface for TMS570LC4357-EP. Is this pin only utilized if it is required by the slave device? How exactly does it differ from SPICS pins? According to the datasheet both SPIENA and SPICS are optional. If SPIENA is not used, how should that pin be terminated?

Hi Michael,

The SPIENA is driven by slave device for handshaking. It tells the master to delay the SPICLK generation when it is not ready to receive or transmit data. If this signa is not used, the master ignores this signal, you can leave this pin unconnected.

The SPICS is used to select slave device, and driven by master.
