TM4C129ENCPDT: EK-TM4C129EXL LaunchPad, VBUS on PB1 with chip not supplied

Part Number: TM4C129ENCPDT
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: EK-TM4C129EXL,

Hi,

On the EK-TM4C129EXL LaunchPad, VBUS from the Target USB connector is directly connected to PB1 of the TM4C129ENCPDT. JP1 is set to ICDI supply (+5V comes from Debug USB Connector).
My feeling is that if the LauchPad is not connected to a PC through Debug connector but is connected to a PC through the Target USB connector, PB1 will be at +5V with the TM4C129ENCPDT not supplied. And there is no current limiting element.
Is this correct or did I oversee something?
Would the 100Ohm resistor proposed in the "System Design Guidelines for the TM4C129x Tiva™ C Series" document limit the current to a valid value?

Thanks and best regards,
Patrick
