Hello TI Support Team,
I am attempting to debug and flash firmware onto an MSPM0G3518 microcontroller which is integrated into a custom ECU. I am using MSPM0G3518 (VQFN-32_RHB32) and the XDS110 USB Debug Probe via Code Composer Studio (CCS) and am currently facing a DAP connection error that prevents me from connecting or flashing the device.
The Error Message:
"Texas Instruments XDS110 USB Debug Probe/CS_DAP_0 Error connecting to the target: DAP Connection Error. This could be caused by the device having gone to low power mode. Try forcing an external reset. If the error persists, try forcing BSL, a Mass erase or a Factory Reset. Check device FAQs for more information."
Troubleshooting Steps Taken (What I Tried):
I attempted to force the device into BSL mode by locating and manipulating the RESET and PA18 pins on the MCU package, using the following sequence:

Pull PA18 Low (to GND).

Pulse RESET (Low then High).

Release PA18.
- Erase MAIN, DATA, and NONMAIN memory.
Could you please advise on the next steps? Specifically:

Does this combination of errors (
DAP Connection Errorand-6305) strongly suggest the device is in a secure locked-out state (SWD disabled)? -
Are there any known clock or power-up timing issues specific to the MSPM0G3518 that I might be overlooking on a custom board?

What is the recommended hardware procedure for a Mass Erase or Factory Reset on the MSPM0G3518 using the XDS110?
