The documents for MSPM0 G-Series 80MHz Microcontrollers and MSPM0G350x Mixed-Signal Microcontrollers with CAN-FD Interface do not mention the selection of an External 4MHz to 48MHz crystal oscillator (HFXT).

The MSPM0G3507 EVM uses a 40MHz 12.5pF crystal.

Our original MSPM05117 board used a TXC/7M40000183 XTAL 40MHz 15pF/10PPM , and the datasheet is attached TXC_7M40000183.pdf .

Is the MSPM0G3507 suitable for use with the TXC/7M40000183?

Please provide the specifications for External crystal oscillator (HFXT) to us, thanks.

Hi, you should be able to use this crystal, just ensure that the external capacitors are suitable for the load capacitance of the crystal. You can also refer to the crystal oscillator guide here for more info on calculating the external cap values, layout recommendations, etc.. Hope this helps!

Hi Brian,
The crystal oscillator guide is for 32-kHz crystal oscillators. Could you please provide a crystal oscillator guide for MHz crystal oscillators?
