Hi Xiaodong,

They load a bootloader onto the MSP through CCS11 and then the device shows up in device manager properly. At this point, they bootload the main FW and the device disappears.

Is it only one device or does it occur consistently? This only occurs with the main SW, and not the bootloader, correct? The bootloader can be programmed onto the device successfully?

Hi Eric,

This is happening consistently on one of their boards. They have other working boards. We have recommended an ABA swap to see if the issue follows the board or our device, but that is expensive and time consuming for them to do. They were hoping we could suggest another debug step before they do that. 

Yes, they are able to factory reset the device and boot the device. When they program with software (that they believe is known good because it works on other systems) they are no longer able to connect to JTAG.

Do you have any other ideas for them to try?

Hi Zach, 

Unfortunately, I believe the ABA swap may be the next step. I would expect the factory reset to resolve any issue with the MCU. From looking at a similar issue here, it appears that the issue may have been with the board.

Please let customer try to connect target MCU under the lower JTAG speed with XDS110

open .ccxml file

update the JTAG TCLK Frequency 

if target MCU still can't be connected under the lower frequency, I think we should consider the potential damage on (one) board and MCU device.

in this case,   ABA swap test should be considered.
