Greetings,
We are currently developing software for the AM62P-LP board and intend to use a Yocto-based build system for our integration.
When configuring the Yocto build, we are prompted to select a MACHINE, and the available AM62-related options include:
-
am62axx-evm
-
am62axx-evm-k3r5
-
am62dxx-evm
-
am62dxx-evm-k3r5
-
am62lxx-evm
-
am62pxx-evm
-
am62pxx-evm-k3r5
-
am62xx-evm
-
am62xx-evm-k3r5
-
am62xx-lp-evm
-
am62xx-lp-evm-k3r5
-
am62xxsip-evm
-
am62xxsip-evm-k3r5
Given that our target hardware is the AM62P-LP board, we would appreciate clarification on which MACHINE configuration is recommended—specifically, whether am62xx-lp-evm or am62pxx-evm is the correct choice, because there is no available am62pxx-lp-evm.
Additionally, we would like to understand the potential implications or risks of selecting an incorrect MACHINE (e.g., differences in device tree, boot configuration, supported peripherals, or long-term maintainability).
Thank you for your guidance.
Best regards,
Dušan
