MSPM0G3519: MSPM0G3519 : BUFCONFIG config register for ADC using external reference

Part Number: MSPM0G3519

Hi TI Team,

Currently I'm working on ADC topic with external voltage reference in my project. I have one question that I'm using 3.6V as external voltage reference for ADC , and I select external ref as configuration, with ADC 10 bit resolution => I understand that the ADC will scale with Vref = 3.6 V, right ? (3.6V is equivalent to 1023). Is the configuration of BUFCONFIG in CTL0 affects to this value ? Because I saw that there is only 2 options 1.4V and 2.5V. I don't know how this will affecto the result.

  • Hi Doan,

    Yes.

The 1.4V and 2.5V option is used for internal VREF. If users select external VREF, the internal VREF is disabled.

Meanwhile, what your VDD voltage level? If you set VDD=3.3V and VREF=3.6V, I think it not safety as it is the ABS MAX ratings. If your VDD is also 3.6V, it is fine.
