AM263P4-Q1: AM263P OSPI XIP function

Part Number: AM263P4-Q1

Hi,

My cutomer has the following questions related OSPI/QSPI XIP function.  Could you pkease answer them?

*1. When one core execute program (XIP) on OSPI Flash, is it possible for another core to execute other programs on OSPI Flash?
Of course, we understand it is difficult to execute them simultaneously. But we want to know the correct executions for both cores.

*2. After one core is writing data to OSPI Flash, is it possible for another core to execute programs on another bank of OSPI Flash?

*3. If AM263P OSPI is connected with QSPI Flash (instead of OSPI Flash), is "XIP function" available?

Thanks and best regards,
M.Hattori.

  • Hi,

    One additional question.

*4. Is it OK for two cores to access data of OSPI/QSPI Flash?  In other words, after one core finished access the OSPI/QSPI Flash data, is it corect operation for another core to access the OSPI/QSPI Flash data?   Please advise us.

    Thanks and best regards,
    M.Hattori.

  • Hi,

    Any response?

    Thanks and best regards,

  • Hi Hattori-san,

Apologies for the delay. It was a national holiday in India yesterday.

    1. When one core execute program (XIP) on OSPI Flash, is it possible for another core to execute other programs on OSPI Flash?
Of course, we understand it is difficult to execute them simultaneously. But we want to know the correct executions for both cores.

Yes, this possible to perform XIP concurrently from multiple cores.

*2. After one core is writing data to OSPI Flash, is it possible for another core to execute programs on another bank of OSPI Flash

Yes, this is possible using the FOTA Accelerator (Firmware over the Air) and RWW (Read While Write) Flash.

For more information please refer to

    3. If AM263P OSPI is connected with QSPI Flash (instead of OSPI Flash), is "XIP function" available?

Yes, XIP is possible using QSPI flash.

Is it OK for two cores to access data of OSPI/QSPI Flash?  In other words, after one core finished access the OSPI/QSPI Flash data, is it corect operation for another core to acce

Yes, this is a subset of 1st question. Concurrent access is supported hence accesses one after another is also supported.
