AM2612: LP-AM261 CCStudio Stability Issue

Hi expert,

Customer report they meet stability issue when you use CCS20.4 to debug AM261 demo code. The launchpad they are using is E2 version and demo is just modify gpio_led_blink_am261x-lp_r5fss0-0_nortos_ti-arm-clang and make it run forever. After runnig a while, CCS lost connection without any issue.

I can reproduce this issue too and I also checked with CCS12.8.1. Both of the latest CCSstudo and legacy 12.8.1 show the same problem.

Can you please check what's the problem?

Hi Andrea,

This issue is happening due to the following two reasons:

1. ROM bootloader triggering a reset after 180 sec if no SBL found

2. PMIC Watchdog timer resetting the MCU

Fix for 1st issue is to use SBL OSPI MCELF and then run in OSPI mode, documentation here - https://software-dl.ti.com/mcu-plus-sdk/esd/AM261X/10_00_01_10/exports/docs/api_guide_am261x/GETTING_STARTED_FLASH.html

If you still see the issue after the above fix then I believe that it will due to second issue, which can be fixed by adding PMIC in syscfg of the SBL OSPI MCELF project, then rebuild the project and use the updated sbl_ospi_mcelf.tiimage and follow the above steps again
