MSPM0G3507: how can use MSPM0G + DRV8311 to have 90degree with 0.1 degree step resolution

Hi,

My customer wants to drive motor to rotate from 0 - 90 degree with 0.1 degree resolution.

We check the spec, DRV8311 can meet it 12V 0.1A with Hall sensor.

So, the resolution is limited by motor driver algorithm in MSP.

Can I know if MSPM0 + drv8311 example project can do this and how to do this?

Hello Frank,

DRV8311 + M0, this kind of BLDC sensored trap control doesn't support high-precision angle adjustment, unless you use the motor which has linear hall sensor, or magnetic hall sensor, or photoelectric encoder.

Or you should to choose to use "stepper motor control" solution.

the hall sensor waveform from motor is below. Is that ok to use DRV8311 + M0?

not sure how to adjust the position in gui tool?

Hello Frank,

The figure you shared is linear hall sensor but you also need one algorithm to calculate the absolute position. And to be honest, the resources for the calculation will need one microcontroller.

About the GUI, it can't achieve the goal too. The GUI just support the Hall sensor waveform like below:
