AM263P4: AM263P4 : Compiler compatibility

Hi,

I understand that TI CCS includes the TI Arm Clang compiler, which can be used for the AM263P4 MCU. While this may be sufficient for a proof‑of‑concept, I would like to know what other compilers are compatible with this device.

Specifically, are there supported or available toolchains from vendors such as Green Hills, Tasking, IAR, HIGHTEC, or others?

Yes we have multiple compiler support for AM263Px ecosystem:

IAR - We already have IAR port enabled recently, it will be rolled out with next sdk release

Just to confirm — does this mean the Tasking compiler is not supported for the AM263P4?

My intended toolchain for development of the project I am evaluating is:

MATLAB/Simulink for application‑level dev
TI AM26x blockset for hardware integration
Bare‑metal (no RTOS)
A standalone compiler such as TI Arm Clang, Green Hills, or another suitable option

Regarding the Green Hills link you shared, I noticed the full SDK includes the µ‑velOSity Safety RTOS, IDE, and compiler. However, I only require the compiler component. Can the compiler be used as standalone?

Could you clarify what you mean by an “IAR port”?

Yes it can be, Please reach out to greenhills for specific details.

IAR compiler support has been developed. For each architecture, the compiler port for that ISA needs to be developed, which is also called startup file.

It will be avilaible for AM26x family from next release onwards.
