Part Number: AM263P4
Hello TI Team,
We are currently working with the AM263P4 device for a safety-critical motor control application.
We would like clarification regarding the lockstep mechanism:
-
Is there any possibility to use the lockstep mechanism to compare data between two separate MCUs (e.g., Control MCU and Monitor MCU)?
Our understanding is that lockstep is typically implemented internally within the same MCU (between dual CPUs). Kindly confirm whether cross-MCU lockstep comparison is supported in any manner.
-
If cross-MCU lockstep is not supported, could you please suggest:
-
Recommended methods for implementing data comparison/validation between two independent MCUs
-
Best practices for synchronizing Data between controllers
-
Any TI reference designs or safety application notes relevant to such an architecture
-
Our application involves both MCUs receiving the same data, and we need to perform reliable cross-validation for safety monitoring.
Any guidance or reference documentation would be highly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your support.
