MSPM0L1116: Why only mode-based current specs? Any per-peripheral current data?

Part Number: MSPM0L1116

Hi,

In the MSPM0L1116 (MSPM0L111x) datasheet, supply current is specified mainly by power modes (RUN/SLEEP/STOP/STANDBY). We could not find current consumption specs for individual digital peripherals (Timer/UART/I2C).

We are also evaluating Renesas RA0E2 in parallel, and their datasheet includes a table that explicitly lists additional current for some peripherals (e.g., interval timer / RTC), which helps system-level power estimation.

Could you please clarify:

  1. Why MSPM0L does not provide per-peripheral current (spec/characterization philosophy)?

  2. Is there any TI reference data or guideline to estimate incremental current when enabling a specific peripheral (e.g., timer)?

Best regards,
Conor

  • Hi Conor,

Honestly, we don't provide the peripheral current since it depends what customer to use. But base on my experience, I have done much test in standby mode, timer would not add additional current consumption.
