AM2612-Q1: Pin Mux Mode for OSPI signals

Part Number: AM2612-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM2612

Hi,

In the AM261x Techincal Reference Manual (page174), table 5-3 lists the OSPI signals as well as the Pin Mux Mode # for each of these GPIO pins for the ZCZ package. In this table, the pin mux mode is listed as 2 for OSPI0_D4 through OSPI0_D7. However, in the AM2612 datasheet (page 22),   Table 5-1 lists the pin mux mode as 1 for these GPIO pins to select OSPI0_4 through OSPI0_7. Which one of these is correct? Am I looking at the wrong tables?

  • Hi,

The Pinmux table mentioned on page 174, is specifically for OSPI-based Boot, i.e ROM tries to boot SBL from Flash, it expects the OSPI memory to be connected on those pins.

While the OSPI signals are available on other pins as well, as you see in the datasheet.

But if you want to use the flash-based boot, then you should follow the pinmux on the board from page 174.

Let me know if you have another questions.
