MSPM0G3519: MSPM0G3218: Information regarding sampling mode in ADC

Part Number: MSPM0G3519

Hi TI Team,

Currently I'm working on ADC topic and I have question regarding Sampling Mode in ADC.

Below are the diagram and circuit from datasheet

This is my assumption for the sampling sequence

  1. We apply voltage Vin without start ADC conversion, S1 switch will remain open. Cin will slowly charge by Vin until Vcin = Vin.
  2. When we begin start of sampling (the red arrow on first picture), S1 switch will close.
I have 2 question in here:
    a) Will the ADC model be disconnected with Vin (I mean the applied voltage on the analog pin) or they remains connected (Which means V in also charges for C sampling) ?
    b) After end of sampling and start conversion, will the S1 switch open again in this case ?
Now the C sampling will start to discharge to 12-bit SAR converter
