MSPM33C321A: MSPM33C321A ADC and Vref configuation

Part Number: MSPM33C321A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSCONFIG,

Hello Team,

I have a few questions regarding the HSADC reference voltage configuration in SysConfig for the MSPM0C321A.

It seems that even we do not turn on VREF module in Sysconfig, reference volatge for HSADC is automatilcally set by 3.3V(in SDK example project "hsadc_single_conversion_vref_external_LP_MSPM33C321A_nortos_ticlang").

Could you confirm if this 3.3V source is derived directly from VDDA or VREFHI?

Where is this 3.3V voltage come from?

  1. Does the Bandgap reference voltage act as the internal reference source in this MCU?
  2. If I set ANAREFCTL.ANAREFSEL to 0, does the reference voltage generator function as an input for an external reference voltage?
  3. If I provide a 3.3V external voltage to the VREF+ pin, is it correct that I do not need to configure or enable the VREF module in SysConfig?

Thank you,

James

  • Hi James,

If the customer is using the launchpad, there is an external reference (REF6033IDGKR) on the board that is suppling the power to the VREF module. The HSADC always uses the reference voltage supplied by the VREF module, but that voltage reference could be either internal (1.4V/2.5V) or external.

    Thanks,
