AM263P4-Q1: Case-sensitive naming convention mismatch across MCAL modules

Hello Team,

Currently we are working on MCAL AM26xx 26.00.00.08.

In bswmd arxml file for All MCAL Modules the Naming convention which is used for Module Name is not same as the Plugin and plugin.xml and because of this Case Sensitivity we are getting compilation issues.

If we take Adc as an example:

In the Bswmd arxml file it is Mentioned as Adc_TI_AM263px

In Plugins Folder and in the Plugin.xml file of the Module it is Mentioned as Adc_TI_AM263Px

Can you please check this issue and provide your feedback

Hello Pranav,

We have checked with Studio team, unfortunately it will take time for them to implement this feature in studio,So our suggestion would be to update the BSWMD.arxml as per Derivate/Module name(AM263Px instead of AM263px).

Hello Pranav,

We checked this with Studio team and received clarification regarding the behavior.

Paths are composed of SHORT-NAME elements, which are defined as XML string values. Since XML is inherently case-sensitive and AUTOSAR does not define any normalization or case-conversion rules for SHORT-NAME values, the names must be referenced exactly as defined, including their letter case.

Accordingly, when resolving references such as BSW-MODULE-ENTRY-REF and IMPLEMENTED-ENTRY-REF, the RTE generator performs exact string matching and does not ignore case differences.

In our implementation, the Module ID is obtained from the plugin.xml file and the corresponding module name is then used for further processing. Since the name resolution relies on XML content, which is case-sensitive, a case mismatch between the module name in plugin.xml and the corresponding reference in the BSWMD file prevents the name from being resolved correctly.

Therefore, it is recommended to use a consistent naming convention across all related configuration files to avoid issues caused by case mismatches.
