AM2434: Unexpected Identifier Change in Industrial Communications SDK v2026

Part Number: AM2434

Hello,

I have received early not-yet-published release of "Industrial Communications SDK" v2026.00.00.06.

I noticed that the "Industrial Communications SDK" (IndCommsSDK) identifier differs from those used in all previous Industrial Communications SDK versions.
Could you please clarify the reason for this change? Allowing multiple IndCommsSDK versions to be applied in parallel (due to different identifiers) is not appropriate.

I would kindly ask you to check and fix this issue, ideally before the public release of Industrial Communicatins SDK v2026.

Please see screenshots below for more details, including a suggested fix in the latest file.

Thank you in advance.

Regards,
Vit Triska

  • Hello,

the change is required due to internal systems. The identifier is unique so there is no conflict in parallel installation.

You can delete the duplicate in your actual project config. You also need to add mcu+sdk in your list. This change was already done in 2025.x release.

You can take a example project from the SDK as reference.

    Regards

    Christof

  • Hello,

Do you plan to rename the ID format and change the meaning of version tag for all future SDK products/releases (<product>\.metadata\.tirex\package.tirex.json)?
Otherwise, I do not understand why this change is being to be introduced so unexpectedly...

    MCU+SDK | ID | version
    mcu_plus_sdk_am243x_11_00_00_15: "id": "com.ti.MCU_PLUS_SDK_AM243X", "version": "11.00.00.15"
    mcu_plus_sdk_am243x_11_01_00_17: "id": "com.ti.MCU_PLUS_SDK_AM243X", "version": "11.01.00.17",
    mcu_plus_sdk_am243x_11_01_00_19: "id": "com.ti.MCU_PLUS_SDK_AM243X", "version": "11.01.00.19",
    mcu_plus_sdk_am243x_12_00_00_26: "id": "com.ti.MCU_PLUS_SDK_AM243X", "version": "12.00.00.26",

    IndCommsSDK | ID | version
    ind_comms_sdk_am243x_09_02_00_15: "id": "com.ti.INDUSTRIAL_COMMUNICATIONS_SDK_AM243X", "version": "09.02.00.15",
    ind_comms_sdk_am243x_09_02_00_24: "id": "com.ti.INDUSTRIAL_COMMUNICATIONS_SDK_AM243X", "version": "09.02.00.24",
    ind_comms_sdk_am243x_11_00_00_08: "id": "com.ti.INDUSTRIAL_COMMUNICATIONS_SDK_AM243X", "version": "11.00.00.08",
    ind_comms_sdk_am243x_11_00_00_13: "id": "com.ti.INDUSTRIAL_COMMUNICATIONS_SDK_AM243X", "version": "11.00.00.13",
    ind_comms_sdk_am243x_2025_00_00_08: "id": "com.ti.INDUSTRIAL_COMMUNICATIONS_SDK_AM243X", "version": "2025.00.00.08",
    ind_comms_sdk_am243x_2026_00_00_06: "id": "INDUSTRIAL-COMMUNICATIONS-SDK-AM243X", "version": "2026.00.00.01",

What is the rationale behind this change?
From my perspective, it appears inconsistent and potentially problematic.

    Regards, Vit

  • Hello,

the IndCommsSDK v2026.00.00.06 has been released:
    https://www.ti.com/tool/download/INDUSTRIAL-COMMUNICATIONS-SDK-AM243X/2026.00.00.06

I noticed a couple of inconsistencies and I would appreciate your clarification:

    1) Why are there two product categories with the same name?
Allowing e.g. both v2025.00.00.08 and v2026.00.00.06 to be added to a single project (at the same time) is not wanted.

    2) Why does the versioning appear incorrect?
    Is it v2026.00.00.01 or v2026.00.00.06?

I assume these 2 issues are unintentional. Could you please clarify or forward these findings to the appropriate team for correction?
    Thank you for your assistance.

    Regards, Vit

  • Hi,

we are checking that internally and let you know.

The v2026.00.00.01 is for sure a mistake.

    Christof
