MSPM33-SDK: MSPM33C321A : Is it the HFXT is limited to 40 MHz?

Hi, 

I would like to ask is it HFXT only limit to 40 MHz, because if according to EVM User's Guide: LP-MSPM33C321A as below it shows 40 MHz.  I also tried to increase to 48MHz, it works well, however when I try to lower down the HFXT to 25 MHz, it somehow show an incorrect SPI clock speed between in the syscfg (Calculated Bit Rate ) with my logic analyzer.

However, the SLASFB6 shows that HFXT has a range from 4 to 48 MHz as below.image.png

    Hi Brendon,

    have you replaced the HFXT crystal on the board? Changing the settings in sysconfig adjusts what hte MCU expects. The EVM has a 40 MHz crystal on board requiring this setting to be 40 MHz.

    If you replaced it let you may also need to update the capacitor values see section 2.1 of this guide: ti.com/lit/slaa322d
