Part Number: AM2634
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DP83869,
Hello TI Team,
I have designed a custom board based on the AM2634COLFHAZCZR (Sitara™ Real-Time MCU) and DP83869HMRGZR (Gigabit Ethernet PHY).
Before proceeding to Ethernet bring-up and continuous ping testing, I would like to request a schematic pre-check and validation from the TI team to ensure our design is correct.
Application Overview:
- Custom industrial board with AM2634COLFHAZCZR as main processor
- DP83869 for Gigabit Ethernet connectivity
- Interface: RGMII between AM2634 and DP83869
- Target test: Continuous ping stability validation
Pre-Check Request Areas:
1. Power Supply & Sequencing
- Are all voltage rails (1.1V / 1.8V / 3.3V) correctly designed?
- Is the power sequencing order correct for AM2634 and DP83869?
- Are decoupling capacitors correctly placed and valued?
2. RGMII Interface
- Is RGMII signal connection between AM2634 ↔ DP83869 correct?
- Should we use internal delay or external delay on DP83869?
- Are series termination resistors required on RGMII lines?
3. Clock Network
- Is the 25MHz crystal circuit for DP83869 correctly designed?
- Are load capacitor values correct for the crystal?
4. PHY Strap Pin Configuration
- Is the PHY address strap pin configuration correct?
- Is RGMII mode correctly selected via strap pins?
- Is Auto-negotiation enabled by default?
5. Reset Circuit
- Is the reset timing correct for both AM2634 and DP83869?
- Is the reset sequence proper between MCU and PHY?
6. Boot Mode Pins
- Are AM2634 boot mode pins correctly configured?
- Any concerns with pull-up/pull-down values?
Goal: Once schematic is validated by TI team, we plan to:
- Power up the board
- Verify PHY link status via MDIO
- Run continuous ping test for Ethernet stability validation
The schematic is attached for your review and feedback.
Kindly confirm if our design is ready for bring-up or if any corrections are needed before PCB fabrication / board power-up.
Thank you for your support
