Just to confirm, could you please provide the following details?

Have you loaded the IPC echo image on the other core as well?
When starting the debug session, what is the order in which you connect to the cores?
Could you share the exact steps you are following from power-on to the point where OnTargetConnect() hangs?
You mentioned using CCS version 12.4.0.00007 — which MCU+ SDK version are you using?

I solved the issue by checking target configs to am64 instead of AM64x_GP_EVM
both cores running, but I can't seen any output in the console, no sign that the two core communicate

When starting the debug session, what is the order in which you connect to the cores? core 0 then core 1
Could you share the exact steps you are following from power-on to the point where OnTargetConnect() hangs?
1. I solved this by picking am64 instead of AM64x_GP_EVM.
