MSP432WARE: MSP-EXP432E401Y projects are not able to import into CCS

In our project, we are using an I2C interface, with the MSP-EXP432E401Y acting as the master. I was trying to import the project from simplelink_msp432e4_sdk_4_20_00_12 SDK but not able to import it into the workspace. An error is showing up stating that the Device MSP432E401YID not recognised. I tried to import it through project wizard in CCS but still this error is showing up. I am using CCS 20.4.0. Please help me to resolve this issue

Did you make sure that the MSP432 component was selected during the installation process?

To check if you have MSP432 components installed, browse to

<CCS INSTALL DIR>\ccs\ccs_base\common\targetdb\devices

And look for any of the msp432 xml files:

If they are missing, then MSP432 components were not installed.

Note that CCS 20.4 is an older version. If you are missing the MSP432 support and need to reinstall CCS, I suggest installing the latest CCS 21.0.

Hi ki,

Thank you for the reply. I have ensured that all the required MSP432 components are installed in my system. I have also uninstalled the previous version of CCS and installed the complete package of CCS 12.0.0. Now I am getting the error while importing the project stating, "Problems importing projects; No TI Arm compilers supporting device 'MSP432E401Y' are currently installed." So should I install the Ti compilers separately? I am also working on some projects in AM364 along with this, but there I am not facing any issues importing projects or compiling them. Please look into the screenshots, and it will be helpful if you can guide me how to resolve the issue

That is correct:

MSP432 is an older device that has been deprecated in support. The SDK for it is older and based on the older TI proprietary compiler that does not ship with CCS anymore.

Once you have installed the compiler, make sure it is discovered by CCS: https://www.ti.com/video/6369988068112
