AM6422: R5F Interrupt delay

Part Number: AM6422

Hello,

We are developing on the AM6422 using the R5F core. There are currently 20 tasks in the system, including one external interrupt used to capture the GPS PPS (pulse-per-second) signal. During testing, we observed latency in interrupt response, sometimes exceeding 10 µs. We would like to know what factors this is related to, and what the normal range of interrupt response latency should be. We also performed another test using a 500 µs timer. In the interrupt service routine, we read the timer counter and also found latency. The maximum latency observed so far is 2 µs. Does this latency issue exist for all interrupts?

  • Hi,

Could you explain how you are measuring this in detail, when are your starting the timer to register your external interrupt? Which timer you are using for profiling this?

I assume you are using FreeRTOS as you mentioned you have 20 tasks in your system but please confirm this.

    Best Regards,
    Meet.
