AM263PX-MCAL-SDK: How to Disable SysConfig-Generated Linker and Vector Configuration on AM263P4AFOMFZCZR

Part Number: AM263PX-MCAL-SDK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM263P4, SYSCONFIG

Hello,

I am developing a custom bootloader and application for the TI AM263P4 using CCS and MCU+ SDK.

My bootloader has its own memory layout, and the application must be linked to specific Flash and RAM addresses. I also need to relocate the interrupt vector table because the application does not start from the default reset address.

Therefore, I would like to manage the memory layout and interrupt vector table manually instead of using the configuration generated by SysConfig.

Specifically, I would like to:

  • Disable the SysConfig-generated linker configuration.
  • Use my own linker command (.cmd) file to define the memory regions.
  • Relocate and manage the interrupt vector table myself.
  • Continue building the project with CCS while disabling only the SysConfig-generated linker and vector configuration.

Could you please advise what the recommended approach is?

Is there an official example or recommended project configuration that demonstrates how to completely disable the SysConfig-generated linker configuration and interrupt vector table while still using CCS and the MCU+ SDK?

Any guidance or reference documents would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,

  • Hi,

    Disable the SysConfig-generated linker configuration.

You can do this by disabling this from the syscfg GUI itself

Use my own linker command (.cmd) file to define the memory regions.

You can create your linker.cmd file in the CCS project and set the project properties to use the user-defined linker from the correct path. Default path would be in the "syscfg/linker.cmd". Change this path to your "custom_path/linker.cmd". The files that need to be changed are in your Debug/Release folders:

    - makefile
    - subdir_vars.mk
    - subdir_rules.mk

Relocate and manage the interrupt vector table myself.

In linker table, there is a region defined to place the linker table, you will have to remap that to the desired location.

Unfortunately we dont have an official guide to do this, but the above steps should help.

    Regards,
    Shaunak
