LMR51420: LMR51420YFD:Excessive EMI and power supply noise on custom MyIR board design

Part Number: LMR51420

We are currently using the LMR51420YFD converter to power a MYIR based board system .

However ,during testing , we are experiencing significant electromagnetic emissions (EMI) that threatens to fail the compliance tests.

We need to implement hardware mitigation steps to suppress these emissions.

Are there specific ,proven EMI filter recommendations tailored for the LMR51420YFD to reduce these emissions?

    Hi Hassan,

    For this device we do not have a proven EMI filter recommendation.

    We do have this application note which details how to create an EMI filter for switching regulators in general. Please see the link below:

    Layout also has a large impact on EMI performance. Keeping the input capacitor distance from the IC as small as possible and minimizing the copper of the SW node helps to mitigate EMI.
