MSPM0G5116: Bug in SysConfig Output

Part Number: MSPM0G5116
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSCONFIG, MSPM0G5187

Hello,
There seems to be an issue with how SysConfig (In CSS version 21) when using TinyUSB and the MSPM0G511x micros.

The first pic shows the selection made in SysConfig
Capture1s.JPG

This Picture shows the SysConfig.config file in text

Capture2s.JPG

this Pic shows the ti_msp_dl_config.c generated
Capture3s.JPG

notice LFCLK is in the code not LFXT - this generates and error undeclared identifier - this line
can not be edited because it is always overwritten at build.

This Pic show SysConfig using SOF (not LFXT)

Capture4s.JPG

This Pic again shows the SysConfig in text (no SOF(which maybe default) or LFCLK)
Capture5s.JPG

Yet - This Pic shows the generated ti_msp_dl_config.c generated

Capture6s.JPG

Still adding the wrong information??  If SOF why this line. Cannot edit because build puts it back.
It is hell bent on adding the LFCLK line.

This Pic show what is used in the dl_sysctl_mspm0g511.h   (LFCLK)

Undeclared identifier error from ti_msp_dl_config.c
Am I goofy and just missing something.

With the MSPM0G5187 there appears to be no issue

Thanks Mike

  • Hi Mike,

It looks like a bug that the generated USBFLL reference clock name is not matched as what definition in device header file.

#1 You see "LFCLK" is always generated in code because you are using clock tree and LFCLK is selected in clock tree. And as there is no definition of DL_SYSCTL_USBFLL_REFERENCE_LFCLK (DL_SYSCTL_USBFLL_REFERENCE_LFXT is defined in dl_sysctl_mspm0g518x.h instead), the error shows.

#2 As a temporary workaround, you could follow below steps:

    - Move ti_msp_dl_config.c and ti_msp_dl_config.h out from Debug folder to your project folder.

    - Edit the USBFLL parameter as correct one.

    - In sysconfig, disable generation of ti_msp_dl_config.c and ti_msp_dl_config.h files as below. Then your modification will not be overwrite anymore.

  • Thanks for the reply and current fix.
