During installation of the Hercules MCU Development Kit CDROM I get some similar error messages. it looks like the Task Scheduler service is needed by the installation program. Can I simply ignore them? Or what else to do? (OS: WIndows XP SP3, User having admin rights)

    Martin,

    Per normal installation a scheduled task will be set to run updater.exe periodically.

    Updater.exe will check if new versions of the installed software have been released on ti.com and automatically ask you to install the newer version.

    It seems that on your setup the scheduled task can not be set properly by the installation process (privilege issue?) so you will not be noticed when new software is released on the web which a minor problem.

    Note that this does not concern HalCoGen however since HalCoGen will perform the check itself.
