Stellaris Part naming

I recently got EKS-LM4F232 Evaluation Kit. I have little doubt about the Microcontroller its having.

The naming should be LM4F232H in the controller chip but it showing LX4F232H and also there isn't any TI or ARM logo.

The markings on part is exactly below

980       YF

LX4F232H

5QDFIGA1

18AH5TW

             G4

Is there any thing wrong with this Part?

  • The use of X as opposed to M marks that you are using a sample part, as opposed to a post production part.  The LM4F232 has not yet entered production, and will not be qualified as having entered production until we are certain that every aspect of functionality detailed in the part's data sheet is fully functional and reliable, so all silicon we currently release for that package still contains the LX4F232 moniker as opposed to LM4F232.  The sample part should still be fully functional, as it already has gone through a very rigorous amount of testing.  We have discovered some issues that we are working to fix before the part enters production, which are outlined in the LM4F232H5QD Errata, which can be found in the Technical Documents section of http://www.ti.com/tool/ek-lm4f232?DCMP=cortexm4f&HQS=ek-lm4f232

If you are seeing any issues with your part that are not listed in the errata, please make a forum post detailing the behavior and we will do all that we can to determine if the issue is based on a problem with the software you're running or a problem with the hardware.
