SM470R1B1M-HT Real Time Clock firmware options

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SM28VLT32-HT, SM470R1B1M-HT

Hello.

I am assisting in building a tool that will serve as a memory storage unit for applications up to 200C

This tool is based around the SM470R1B1M-HT micro and SM28VLT32-HT Flash.

I also require an RTC.  The problem is that no RTCs exist in my temperature ranges.  Now I've found a few options for high temp XOs at 32kHz, but I would still have to implement the firmware for the RTC separately.

What I am looking for is some advice on how to proceed.  Would it be best to make use of a RTI pin on the micro to count pulses from the XO and create the counting clock from there?  What other options can you suggest for this implementation?  Any examples?

Thanks for your time.
