RM48 Daughter boards

Can anyone guide me to the available Daughter cards for RM48 HDK. I am more interested in a daughter card which plugs into the expansion connectors to provide header pins for external connectivity.

Thanks,

Imran.

  • Hello Imran,

There are no expansion boards available for order at the moment. We have a reference design that should be of help to you in creating your own expansion board. You can find the schematic, Gerber files and related information at the Wiki page below:

  • Hi,

Let me just add that the Gerber files are posted for the experimenter board, as we designed it.  If you don't want to modify it, you can simply zip up the gerbers and submit to a PCB shop.   The shop we used has a $33 Each option for 2 layer PCBs, and this design qualifies.  So you should be able to get a few blanks for a little over  $100 in about a week's time.

The design we posted does have a lot of components because of all the transceivers for FlexRay, CAN and LIN, but if you just populate the three 2mm headers and leave the rest of the components unpopulated, it should work fine as a breakout & prototyping board.

This approach is a bit of an experiment, and personally I'd welcome feedback from anyone who tries this.  If it works out well, there are some other designs we might share that wouldn't normally make sense as a product like a USB stick or HDK but might serve as a kick-start to a smaller audience.

    Best Regards,

    Anthony
