  • Hi, Michael. I've moved this post to the Stellaris forum. I believe they can help you with code examples more effectively than the Audio Converters team.

Stellaris team, can you please assist with code examples?

As you contnue developing, I suggest rieferring to this forum post to see another case of connecting a Stellaris MCU with the TLV320DAC3120. http://e2e.ti.com/support/data_converters/audio_converters/f/64/t/193558.aspx

You've chosen a complex Audio DAC - 24 bits with extensive capability.  Appears you have an EK232 Eval board - your off-board DAC is a 32 pin QFN - not the easiest device with which to prototype.  Unless you have prior skill/experience - suggest that you acquire an Eval Board for that DAC.  (if avail)

Interface is via I2C - so that would be a good beginning.  Our group believes in "KISS" - getting I2C to work correctly with so complex an IC is (sorry) unlikely.  Suggest that you acquire small, simple I2C EEprom IC - and master the I2C link with that set-up first.   There are literally 1,000 posts this forum alone - devoted to issues w/I2C.

Once you've mastered the EK to EEprom I2C commo - you'll be far better prepared to, "do battle" w/that rather spectacular DAC.  And once again - prefer that you "start' with smaller, simpler I2C DAC - so that you can further build your mastery.  Believe that small, systematic goal achievement "trumps" Rocket to Mars!  (unless you're Cal Tech calibre)   Sure this is not what you wanted to hear - but may qualify as a, "clue."   Good luck...
