Hello Abhishek,

can you tell me about the content of the Safety Analysis Report? How does it help us in development? As we need an NDA, what are we allowed to do with it? If it helps in validation, can we use it for that?

    Manuel,

    With our current partitioning of documents we have the following in the Safety Analysis Report Summary:

    • Summary of failure rates of the MCU estimated at the chip level
    • Assumptions of use utilized in calculation of safety metrics
    • Summary of ISO 26262 standard safety metrics at the chip level
    • Summary of IEC 61508 standard safety metrics at the chip level

    And in addition to the above the Detailed Report includes:

    • Fault model used to estimate device failure rates suitable to enable calculation of customized failure rates
    • Quantitative FMEA (also known as FMEDA, Failure Modes, Effects, and Diagnostics Analysis) with
    detail to the sub-module level of the device, suitable to enable calculation based on customized
    application of diagnostics

    The Detailed report is bundled with the FMEDA spreadsheet which allows application specific tailoring (including temperature profile, enabling/disabling the use of individual safety mechanisms, pins and modules, etc) to derive the FIT rate specific to your application. It also lists the effectiveness of individual diagnostics, thus aiding in decision making.

    We can share both documents with you once we have an NDA in place.

    Hello Abhishek,

    I tried to get the safety documents on your SafeTI page http://www.ti.com/ww/en/functional_safety/safeti/SafeTI-61508.html and the forms on http://www.ti.com/safetyanalysis about two weeks ago but I got no answer or confirmation yet. Do you know if something went wrong? Is there another way to get the documents? Do you know who to contact in germany?
