I added the library file to the referenced location, and the specific error disappeared. However, I am now getting new compilation errors. I’ve attached a text file of the console output for your reference. I use the same procedure to create a simple Hello World project as outlined previously, with no other changes. Please let me know what the issue may be.

It seems like the issue is likely with my installation of CCSv5. I have uninstalled it, but am no longer able to reinstall off the TI site. I have tried to download from this location, but the installation consistently fails.

I've successfully reinstalled CCSv5, but I am still unable to compile the TMS470M HDK Demo project you have provided. I have attached the console output below. Please advise.

It is a linker error form your log file. Would you please check the version of the compiler you are using? I installed CCS5.2.1. It comes with compiler version 4.9.5. Before I sent the zip file to you, I unzipped it and ther is no error in compiling the project.

We cannot repeat your error here.  I would suggest you removing the file "rtsv7m3_t_be_eabi.lib" from the directory "C:\ti\ccsv5\tools\compiler\tms470_4.9.5\lib and rebuild the project by select "clean" under project tab. Since the library file is missing, ccs5 will automatically rebuild the library. this will ensure that the library is correct.

That definitely fixed it! Thanks, I was beginning to wonder what the issue was, after several installations. For some reason CCS5 did not generate the required library for me, but when I included the library file you provided, it now compiles without problems. Thank you for finding the issue.

The necessary library files are not being automatically generated, resulting in compilation errors. In this case, the error is “cannot find file rtsv7R4_A_be_eabi.lib”. Can you please send me the appropriate file, or let me know what settings I should change in order to get these files generated automatically?

Looks a lot like the issue we ran through with TMS470M, I agree…

Your library rtsv7R4_A_be_eabi.lib is the alplha release.

Looking at my CCS setup I have the same one available. All my TMS570 code is compiled either with rtsv7R4_T_be_eabi.lib or with rtsv7R4_T_be_v3D16_eabi.lib (floating point).

Can you try recompiling with these libraries and let me know if that resolves your compile issue?

Note that you should never use an alpha or a beta, we have an action on talking with the CCS team and understanding why they even appear as the default compiler / library version.
