I thought I read somewhere that the watchdog clock was an independent clock – using the LPO or something.

But I don’t see that configurability in HalCoGen and SPNU499 para 3.2.5 shows it runs off the RTICLK – we were under the impression the watchdog ran or could run from a separate independent clock?

Watchdog is a function from RTI module. It runs from RTICLK. You can choose different clock source for RTICLK.

Thanks - so this means that the RTI block and the Watchdog have to run from the same clock - i.e. all my timers and counters for my OS are tied to the same clock that runs my watchdog timer. I am in an aerospace application so need independence between my watchdog and other software functions.

Calum,

There are two additional timers (NHET). They can be programmed to generate multiple timing interrupts. You may want to consider using one NHET to drive you OS and and timing event so that your OS and watchdog on RTI module can run from different clock domain.
