Simple counter or timer in ms (measure timeout)

Hi,

Which is the best approach to develop one time counter or timer in ms to measure timeout of some function.

Example:

Master set one signal and waits for slave to respond. So if in 5ms slave does not answer, timeout occurs.

Is RTI my answer?

I use RM48950 ZWT.

Dejan,

RTI is a good option.

I suggest to use HalCogen to generate the code for you.
RTI can generate an interrupt after the 5ms timeout.

Which of them has the fastest initialization?

It doesn't need to have interrupt options.

Dejan,

High End Timer can be used to achieve similar results.

Define a virtual counter, and use it to detect a time out.

You can use halcogen to generate the code.
RTI init is faster than NHET init.
