Error running the Hercules Safety Demo with TMDXRM48HDK board

I tried running the latest version of Hercules Safety MCU Demo (version 3.01.00) with TMDXRM48HDK. It could detect the RM48HDK and could download the program. After doing the restart, I selected the LED LIGHT SHOW demo but it gave me the following error:

"Connection to the microcontroller has been lost, please hit the reset button and try again. If this error persists please exit to the launch pad and rerun the demo."

I tried doing the above instructions several times but I wast still getting the same error message. The when i tried re-running the demo, it would ask me again to download the program because it couldn't detect the demo software installed on the microcontroller.

Any idea how to fix the issue?
