laptop doesn't recognize stellaris launchpad when connected

Hi Timur,

There are two USB ports on the Launchpad,  one for device and one for D\debug. Do you have the USB cable plugged into the debug port and the switch set to debug? If so what operating system are you using?

Yes, I have the USB cable plugged into the debug port and have the switch set to debug. The operating system I am using is Windows XP.

Are you determinng that your laptop is not reconizing the Launchpad merly by the RGB not turning on or have you check the windows device manager for the launchpad( You should see a virtual serial port and two stellaris ICDI devices, shown below)?

The RGB only turns on becuase of the firmware it was preprogrammed with, if you reprogrammed the chip the RGB will not function the same.

I have the stellaris ICDI devices, but they have small exclamation points with a yellow background on their icon. And it won't allow me to upgrade the driver. Any ideas? Thanks for your help.
