I'm sure it's some obvious mistake, but I am having trouble getting the GUI to run for instaspin-bldc. I have gone over the "GUI Quick Start Guide:instaspin_bldc", "DRV8301-RM46-KIT Get Started" and "TMDXRM46CNCD Hercules™ ARM® Safety MCU controlCARD (CNCD) USER GUIDE" documents repeatedly, but I don't see what I'm doing wrong. I have all the hardware connections done correctly, and I have the switches on the controlcard set as shown in the controlcard user guide. When I run the launcher.exe file, Gui Composer launches but it only shows a the attached image (no options in the drop down). The user guide makes it sound like I have some type of hardware issue, but there just aren't that many hardware connections. Below you will find my basic system setup as required by the e2e guidelines. I appreciate any assistance. Thanks.

Hi Jared,

Sorry for the delay responding. The kit comes with 2 different demos: FOC with SMO, InstaSPIN-BLDC. Are you having the same issue with both projects/GUIs?

Even without hardware connected, the GUI should get painted on your display (although you would see red X's since the variables/symbols aren't connected to the widgets). This makes me think that it is something unforeseen in your PC configuration or we had a botched install.

Have you tried a complete uninstall and re-install?

I tried running each of the GUIs, but the result is the same. I did an uninstall/reinstall today of the GUI Composer Runtime software, but it didn't change anything. I have the launcher.exe file located in C:\ti\guicomposer\webapps\DRV8301_RM46_BLDC, which I believe is correct. Is there anything else I can try?

We have the very same problem and followed the same steps as Jared without any success. Is there a fix for this problem?

Hello,Jared Allen.I also have some questions like yours.when i run the launcher.exe file,it comes as the picture below described.i have everything done on the basis of the user guide. I have all the hardware connections done correctly, and I have the switches on the controlcard set as shown in the controlcard user guide. then,i don't know whether something else i am doing wrong

Hi,

I experienced the same issue with my DRV8301LS12 EVM.

Although there pasts much time since this post is issued first, I post the possible solution for similar case.

You may have to use the proper version of GUI composer for the Demo.

I confirmed the GUI composer is not compatible between latest version and the version included in DVD.

With the proper version of GUI composer, you may see the normal operation of the Demo.

Hi Travis,

Could you tell me which version of GUI composer allowed normal operation of the demo GUI? I am having issues with connecting to the DRV8301-RM46-KIT and believe it may be related to this same issue.
