Hello,

I have a problem regarding the DCAN of TMs570.

I'm sending a cyclic CAN message from TMS570 to an external receiver via message box 3. This works well.

I'm sending a message from Outside to TMS570 I can receive it via message box 2. But than it is not possible send the cyclic message again.

The bit at MSGVAL12 for message box 3 is always 0.

If I initialize the DCAN after receive of a message at TMS570 message transfer works well in both ways.

Has anyone an idea what is going wrong or better what do I'm missing at my code?

Oliver,

I would suggest you using TI Halcogen tool to generate code for running the DCAN module. I am also attaching two files that can serve as example of how to use interface registers to seup CAn mailbox for transmission and reception. You can compare the operation in this example with your source code.

Would be able to obtain the dcan.h, can_test.h and device.h files that goes along with the *.c files mentioned in this thread, please?

Hi Scott

you can generate these files from Halcogen.

In fact these files contents change depending on how you configre the dcan option on the GUi.

you need to click on the right GUI option to configure your topology.

can you please take a look at Halcogen on dcan section?

Unfortunatelly it is not possible for me to send the code.

But usually the halcogen code can be built and so far I was using it I've got a usable project. So may be something wrong at your environment.
