Cortex M3 to M4F Transition and Availability

Back to work January 2, 2013 and, surprise, all the Stellaris M3 parts have "vanished" from the selection guides.  Going to the individual part number pages show them as NRND.  In their place are the M4F parts but they don't seem to exist either.  There are no parts, even as "Preview", with Ethernet and external memory and for the others, distributors have no stock.  One distributor shows 7 parts - all but one are "obsolete" and that one has no stock and no lead time listed.  Another distributor shows 6 part numbers with no stock and no lead times (except for one part at 999 weeks!).  A third has 102 part numbers, all but one have no price (non-cancelable, non-returnable) and that one lone part has no stock and no lead time.  Can someone please provide some real availability, life-cycle information and road-map for the Stellaris LM4F line?  I hope these parts aren't a marketing "flash in the pan".

  • I made the same checks this very morning with those same results. Your eyes do not deceive you..

Relax, Miguel will contact you shortly with soothing words etc... Though I missed my tete-a-tete with him this morning I am sure I will eventually get the good news that all is well.

In another post someone from TI promised to supply as long as you keep ordering your hearts desire of LM3S chips -- so order way...
