can't debug project0

i just got my launchpad, installed ccsv5, stellarisware and drivers (on win7 x64), but when I hit debug i get this error:

CORTEX_M4_0: GEL Output:
Memory Map Initialization Complete
CORTEX_M4_0: Error: Timed out while waiting for target powerup/polling a hardware resource.

the 'launching debug session' progress never completes (although it reaches 100%).

when i try to cancel the debug session, it says 'Cancel Requested', but nothing happens.

if i then try to start debugging again, it hangs ccs.

is this supposed to work? how do i get past this?

PS. lmflashprogrammer works fine.

    P H,

    When you say lmflashprogrammer works fine..  It programs/erases, runs application with no issues?  

    What is the possition of the pwr select switch?  Is VDD jumper or R30 in place?  Can you measure the +3.3V test point at the bottom right on the board?

    Are you able to use CSS to debug any other devices?  Is it only the Stellaris device having issues?
