LM4F Ethernet

Can we have an approximate date when Ethernet/ EMIF I2S device can be released as experimental and a plan for production? Segment is no more covered after obsoleting all LM3S series

  • Suggest that you consider alternative like ENC624J600 10/100 Base-T Ethernet controller -- you can contact me for additional details if you wish. Some suppliers have ready to go add-on boards etc. Might require re-write of LWIP or compiler switch. Difficulty is in finding ready to go library...

Have some possible solutions in mind -- probably you are aware as well -- but just in case not feel free to send me a note...

  • I couldn't possibly comment on future features or roadmaps here. I would, however, suggest that you contact your local TI FAE who should be able to provide you with helpful and encouraging information as long as you are willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

Hi Dave, I am confused about this NDA for a so simple information, I think this must be as transparent as possible to avoid developer migrate to FreeScale NXP, ST or Atmel, all of them has full production of ethernet devices, TI stopped production and request non disclosure to reveal when a new part become available, why?

I called my local FAE from distributor EBV, tomorrow I try local TI FAE but I really cannot understand what happen. From FAE answer please can you send me an NDA so I can access plan and decice if continue develop on stellaris or simply switch out of them?

I continue pry National Semi teach to TI and not TI destroy long term professionality of them.

    ENC624J600 10/100 Base-T Ethernet controller -- yo

Hi Dave, thank for suggestion but I never wish use nothing from Microchip and I try consider what is distributed by EBV only. An alternate may be wizznet but is external and no IEEE precision timer is in place so I prefer to switch to Freescale part if no TI replacement come in time. The worst I lost near a year to learn about stellaris programming a lot of time learning CCS and his bad Linux behaviour using examples and libraries. This moment I am analyzing IPcore Ethernet or simply aborting all.

  • As seems to be the norm in all the companies I've worked for, we don't talk about non-public information on public forums. I can't tell you what we're working on (much as I would love to) for this reason. If you send me a private message with your email address, I'll pass it on to someone who has a better chance of being able to help.

  •  Hi Dave, thank for answer, I still cannot figure why not expose plan of this but I respect this policy so I can send you my Email to shorten cycle.

Next I try finish setup of CCS to evaluate new LM4S/MSP430 family for next design just requiring ADC SPI timers and parallel ports.
