Forcing an error condition

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS570LS20216

Hi,

Is there any way to force an error condition apart for using ESMEKR (forcing 1010 )register .

i.e drive the ERROR pin to low

I am using the USB development kit TMS570LS20216

Thanks,

Vivek

  • Vivek,

What is purpose of driving ERROR low in your application? ESM error forcing mode (writing 0xA to ESMEKR register) is the simplest method. Otherwise, you need to generate a real error and send it to ESM. It is much more complicated.

  • Hi,
    Mr Zhang

    Thanks For your response.

I am trying to do a developer testing to check if my ESM module initialisation/configuration is proper and the error occurs.
I wanted to check how it responds in a practical scenario.

My ESM initialisation is as follows :

    Initialisation of VIM RAM.
Enabling the ESM interrupt( both high level and low Level)
    Providing the priority to interrupts
Set time duration of ERROR pin to be held low
Enabling the influence on ERROR pin when the Group1 error identified by the Channel parameter occurs.
Enabling the error when the error occurs on interrupt /error channels of group 1.

Let me know if I am in the right track.

    Thanks,
    Vivek

  • Vivek,

You also need to enable the ESMIESRx registers for the desired error inputs .

  • Hi ,

Can anyone provide me the program to corrupt the flash ECC or RAM ECC which will create an ERROR and thus help me verify the ESM module.

    Thanks,

    Vivek
