I am attempting to develop software in CCSv5 using the RM48L952ZWTT and after having set up the code in HalCoGen and in CCSv5, I get the error saying that the device is not connected to my computer. I set the emulator as TI XDS100 v2 like in the instructional class, and I have a feel that this may be the problem since it worked well with this setting using the USB MCU.

Please let me know what I can do to get this program off the ground.

IcePick: Error connecting to the target: (Error -2131 @ 0x0) Unable to access device register. Reset the device, and retry the operation. If error persists, confirm configuration, power-cycle the board, and/or try more reliable JTAG settings (e.g. lower TCLK). (Emulation package 5.0.952.0)

This is the error I have received in CCS5.

what's the version of your CCS, 5.2 or 5.3? Could you please change another board and check whether the same problem will occur.

CCS 5.3. I don't have another board on my person, just the board that I am using, but I will ask a partner if he will lend me his to experiment on my laptop. I tried a USB development version of another Hercules MCU and there was absolutely no problem.

Hi Marcos,

The chip on the USB board is the same with the one on the evaluation board? I think you can double check for the property configuration of the project. You know, the device number, the connection tools, and the runtime support library.

No, although they were from the same family, they were not the same chip. The demo class I took worked well on my laptop with the CCSv5.3, but now with the RM48L952, nothing is working. I have already tried several times to adjust configuration settings and redo what i learned in the workshop.

There is a jumper on the board. please make sure the jumper is shorted (default).

In CCS, please make sure the TCK frequency is 1MHz (default).

Everything is in its default position as I reinstalled CCSv5.3 and only recently started trying to flash programs onto the RM48.

Does the specific error I stated above in the second reply have any clues on what is going wrong?

Do you see the LEDs POW (JtAG) on middle left of the board on?

Do you see the LEDs JTAG on middle left of the board flashing when you try to connect the device?

Do you see the LEDs POW (MCU) on middle right of the board on?

Do you see the LEDs SPD on middle left of the board on?
