HalCoGen updates

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: HALCOGEN

Hello,

I'm having some troubles with the updates of HalCoGen!

I have updated HalCoGen several times during the last 12 months.

I can see that the previous version of HalCoGen is not removed when the new version is installed. Well, I did a clean-up and removed older versions.

Now I have to re-install HalCoGen beacuse of a bad configuration file!!!

Do you have any advise how to keep the number of installed versions low and still have it working? :-)

Best regards
   Michael c".)

  • Hi Michael,

Sorry to bring you the inconvenience.  But I haven't meet this problem before. When I update my HALCoGen before, new version of HALCoGen will remove the previous version files but the "help" file. You can delete the "help" file manually. That won't influence the new version.

If you want you keep the previous version, just download the new version from TI website: http://www.ti.com/tool/halcogen  and install it in a different directory. That would  be OK.  I keep several versions of HALCoGen on my computer too and they all work well.

Hope that this may help you.

           Best Regards,
           Shelford

  • Hello Shelford,

    Sorry for my late reply!

As I wrote in my first post, I am having trouble with the message "Invalid client configuration file" when I in the Help-menu clicks "Check for update".

How can I reset this configuration file?

I have tried to make the computer forget everything about HalCoGen by erasing all entries I could find the Windows Reg-Base, and I have deleted all directories under HalCoGen. But I still get this error message.

    Best regards

  • Hi Michael,

We haven't met this problem before.  Then can you install the new version HALCoGen directly instead of using "check for update" now ?  And we will forward your update problem to our HALCoGen team.  We will get back to you later. Thanks

    Best  Regards
