TMS570LS3137ZWT: Correct Pin for N2HET1[21]

Hello Forum,

MCU: TMS570LS3137ZWT

TRM: SPNS162A –APRIL 2012–REVISED NOVEMBER 2012

I'am using N2HET1[21] as GIO Input and MIBSPI1NCS[3] for Chn. Select Functionality. Now the N2HET1[21] Signal is assigned to both Balls J3 and H4. What happens if I set Pin J3 to N2HET1[21] in the Pinmux too? Do I have the Signal N2HET1[21] twice on H4 and J3?. If J3 is set to MIBSPI1NCS[3] is H4 still usable as Input? Are the Pin descriptions in the TRM correct for J3 and H4?

regards

  • Hi Lorenz,

Thanks for your post.  Please see my comments as below:

Now the N2HET1[21] Signal is assigned to both Balls J3 and H4. What happens if I set Pin J3 to N2HET1[21] in the Pinmux too? Do I have the Signal N2HET1[21] twice on H4 and J3?

Answer: If output, yes, you can get the N2HET signal from both the J3 and H4.

If input, you only can get input signal from one pin. Ant the selection will be determined by PINMMR9[25] and PINMMR25[0]. Below is a example of SPI4CLK       input multiplexing example.

But notice this on page 228 of the TRM:

If J3 is set to MIBSPI1NCS[3] is H4 still usable as Input?

Answer: Yes, If you define J3 as MIBSPI1NCS[3] and H4 as N2HET[21] in PINMUX, they will be independent ports.  You can use both of them.

Hope that this may help you.

    Best Regards,
    Shelford

  • Hello Shelford,
