ETM connector pins

Dear all,

may you clarify me some points which have arisen after I was supplied by  with eval board schematis within this post?

Where are following pins connected to if using debuggers e.g. like Lauterbach, JTAGjet, iSystem, et.:

pin (07) TRIGIN / DBGRQ-ETM - unconnected or linked with GND?

pin (08) TRIGOUT / DBGACK-ETM  - unconnected or linked with GND?

pin (09) nSRST / RSTn - I guess that this pin shall be permanently linked with RST_ (reset pin of uController), line RSTn shall not be connected, right?

pin (10) NO / EXTTRG  - unconnected or linked with GND?

Thanks for your hints in advance,

cheers, Jiri

  • Jiri,

Thanks  for your post. We will check with the ETM expert and get back to you soon.

    Best Regards,
    Shelford

  • Jiri,

    pin (07) TRIGIN / DBGRQ-ETM - unconnected

    pin (08) TRIGOUT / DBGACK-ETM  - unconnected

    pin (09) nSRST / RSTn - unconnected

    pin (10) NO / EXTTRG  - unconnected

    Thanks and regards,

    Zhaohong

  • Hello Zhaohong,

thanks a lot for your clear statement ;-)

    Cheers, Jiri

  • Hello Zhaohong,

    hope the last question ;-)

Well, you wrote that pin (09) RSTn can remain unconnected. Should I consider a link via the jumper JP9 1-2 to be connected with the system warm reset RST_ (ball B17 on 3137ZWT device)? What is your opinion?

I think that connection is not necesarry - the debug reset forced by nTRST (pin 21) is sufficient, is not? I mean that hard power reset nPORRST has a similar affect as warm reset in that case - a debug session is lost and the new one must be established, does not?

Yes, in "special" cases there is only way to get alive to unconnect the debugger probe and switch off the power line ;-)

    Cheers, Jiri
