Hello,

I want ask how to transfer bootloader (with Flash programming APIs) into device after power on? We got demand to program MCUs from our ODM partner, but we didn't find any information how to transfer bootloader into virgin device.

Hello Frantisek,

There is no code in the device upon shipment. You will need to use the JTAG interface to load a program into RAM and execute for programming if the devices are already mounted on an ECU. For stand alone devices, there might be additional methodologies available. I have copied our Flash programming expert so he can add more details.

Hello Frantisek,

For new devices from the factory (virgin device), the only available connection method is JTAG. This can be used to to download a program into device RAM and then executing it. This program can use any data transfer method available and would program this data into the Flash memory using the F021 Flash API.

Hello John,

OK, does there exist available specification for downloading code to RAM through JTAG? How I wrote our customer wants program devices off line on our device programmers and we have to answer him if programming on our device programmers is feasible or not.
